Wednesday 28 January 2026, London: OVO, a leading UK independent energy retailer, today announced a new collaboration with Google Cloud, to improve customer experience by adopting Google Cloud’s AI capabilities.
By combining OVO’s expertise in serving millions of customers with Google Cloud’s AI products and Cloud technologies, including Google’s Gemini models, the collaboration will accelerate innovation helping customers understand, manage, and reduce their energy use, and to provide enhanced support to households.
Uniquely, AI will also play a critical role in identifying and supporting vulnerable customers. By using adaptive learning to detect signs of financial hardship, changes in energy usage and understanding a customer’s personal needs; OVO will proactively offer support to those who need help most.
