OVO PASSES ON SAVINGS TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS AS WHOLESALE PRICES START TO DROP
We’re offering a fixed tariff for our pay monthly customers
OVO has launched a new 12 month fixed tariff for existing customers priced at £2275. As wholesale prices have started to drop, OVO has started to pass the savings on to its loyal customers with the offer of this new fixed tariff.
For many customers, a long term fix provides protection against continued energy price uncertainty. This fixed tariff is cheaper than the government’s cap of £2,500 on household bills.
The Energy Price Guarantee remains until July
The government has announced that the Energy Price Guarantee will remain at £2,500 until July. In addition, they have announced that from July, prepayment meter customers on a tariff that is subject to the Ofgem Price Cap will not be charged more than a pay monthly customer.
OVO campaigned for the EPG to remain at £2,500, the prepayment poverty premium to be abolished and a social tariff to be introduced by 2024 – as part of its 10 Point Plan.
We’re continuing to support our customers
OVO launched its £50m Customer Support Package in October 2022, helping customers with real and immediate needs over winter. This included providing nearly 30,000 free electric heated throws, nearly 7,000 free smart thermostats, over 3,500 free boiler services and nearly 14,000 referrals to a vulnerability guild to provide further support. OVO will continue to support customers concerned about the cost of living crisis, including; energy efficiency advice, payment holidays and referrals for additional benefits (such as Warm Home Discount).
